VISUAL ARTIST
Roberto Portillo GEORGGE nació en 1983, en la Ciudad de México e inicia su camino artístico cerca de los 5 años de edad. Estudió Artes Plásticas en el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y participó en talleres con Sebastián y Jazzamoart.
Tiene más de 100 exposiciones tanto individuales como colectivas, entre las que destacan el Museo de San Ildefonso y la Galería Alfredo Ginocchio en México; el Museo de Carruajes de Sevilla y la Casa Colón en Huelva, España; The New Florence Art Biennale en Italia; ArtExpo New York y Art Basel Miami, en 2016; y la Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo de Argentina, donde ganó el 2° lugar en técnicas mixtas y la Bienal Internacional de Arte de Beijing.
Su obra de estilo figurativo explora el desarrollo de técnicas mixtas sobre soportes tanto convencionales como no convencionales, como la mezclilla, pasando por el dibujo, la pintura, la escultura, la instalación.
Es Fundador y Presidente de Fundación Georgge Art, A.C., una organización sin fines de lucro cuya misión es promover el arte y la cultura mexicana tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.
GEORGGE was born in 1983 in Mexico City and began his artistic path around the age of 5. He studied Visual Arts at the National Institute of Fine Arts (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes) and participated in art workshops with Sebastian and Jazzamoart.
He has over 100 individual and collective exhibitions, being the most outstanding those at San Ildefonso Museum and Alfredo Ginocchio Gallery, in Mexico; Carriage Museum of Seville and Casa Colón in Huelva, Spain; The New Florence Art Biennale in Italy; ArtExpo New York and Art Basel Miami, in 2016; and the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Argentina, where he was awarded the 2nd Prize of Mixed Media and the Beijing International Art Biennale in China.
His work of realistic style explores the development of mixed techniques on conventional and unconventional media such as denim, along with drawing, painting, sculpture, engraving and installation.
He is the Founder and President of Fundación Georgge Art, A.C., a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting Mexican art and culture.
